Positions

General Positions:

Commander (CMD) - In charge of Talon Company.  There are always two, to prevent the establishment of a dictatorship.  A Commander always holds the rank of Commander along with the position.

Acting Commander (ACMD) - When a Commander is going to be away for a long or uncertain period of time, an Acting Commander is appointed to take over the Commander's duties.  An Acting Commander may be appointed by either Commander but must step down when the on-leave Commander returns.  Note; Acting Commander is a position, he/she keeps his/her currently held rank while in the position.

Training Officer (TO) - In charge of overseeing the training of low-leveled recruits.

Warrant Officer (WO) - In charge of administration and record keeping.

Assistant Warrant Officer (AWO) - Helps the Warrant Officer with his/her various duties.

Quartermaster (QM) - Makes sure that all soldiers are equipped with standard kit.

 

Military Positions: 

Military Division Leader (MDL) -  In charge of military administration and coordination.

Military Division Deputy (MDD) - Assists the division leader, and takes over his duties when the leader is away.

Squad Leader (SL) - Runs a squad of four soldiers, keeping them organized and in line. 

Squad Deputy (SD) - Runs the squad when the Squad Leader is away.

Trooper (TPR) - The basic foot soldiers.  There are two in every four-person squad.

 

Science Positions:

Science Division Leader (SDL) - In charge of science administration and coordination.

Science Division Deputy (SDD) - Assists the division leader, and takes over his duties when the leader is away.

Lead Medic/Head Employee (LMD/HEM)- Commands a science squad of four people.

Medic/Employee (MDC/EMP)- The other members of a science squad.

 Radio DJ (RDJ) - In charge of Talon Company radio broadcasting on 27.70.

Promotion Policy

1) Positions:

 1.1) Any person in a command position (at or above Squad Leader/Head Employee/Lead Medic) may give any subordinate a battlefield (acting) promotion to any position up to one level below their own.

  1.1.1) Any person in an acting capacity in any given position will have the same rights and privileges as a person in a permanent capacity in said position.

   1.1.1.1) The Commanders will review the battlefield promotion as soon as they can.  If they approve, the person is confirmed to that position.  If they object, the person will revert back to their previously-held position.

 1.2) Division Leaders may promote people to a position up to and including Squad Leader/Head Employee/Lead Medic without requiring them to serve in an acting capacity to begin with.

  1.2.1) Division Leaders may battlefield promote people to Division Deputy positions.  These will then need to be reviewed by the Commanders.

 1.3) Commanders may appoint any person of any rank to any position as they see fit.

  1.3.1) Acting Commanders may promote people to any position except for; Commander, Military Division Leader, Science Division Leader

 

2) Ranks:

 2.1) Any person in a position equal to or above Squad Leader/Head Employee/Lead Medic, and holding a rank of at least Master Sergeant, may promote members in rank.

  2.1.1) The holder of the command position may promote a subordinate up to two ranks below their own without requiring that the person serve in an acting capacity. 

  2.1.2) The holder of the command position may battlefield promote a subordinate to a rank one level below their own.

   2.1.2.1)   Any person in an acting capacity in any given rank will have the same rights and privileges as a person in a permanent capacity in said rank. 

    2.1.2.1.1) The Commanders will review these battlefield promotions.  If they approve, the person will stay in the rank in a permanent capacity.  If they do not approve, the person reverts back to the rank that they held previous to the promotion.  

 2.2) A Commander may promote any member to any rank.

  2.2.1) As an Acting Commander holds a rank different from Commander, they are subject to the 2.1 promotion regulation.  However, they can review battlefield promotions if a Commander has not done so within seven (7) days of the battlefield promotion.
